Eric Lamaze – Winner of the Grand Prix Loro Piana Città di Roma
“It’s always fantastic to win here in Rome. Before last week it was a long time since I won anything, so two weeks in a row is amazing. I did itonce in 2011 on Hickstead, so to have a chance to do it on two different horses demonstrates how this sport sometimes goes your way. In these last two weeks things seem to work out for me – its the way it goes and when you get to this level its anybody’s win. Obviously the order of the jump -off in these types of courses have a lot to decide on who wins.”
“I took a bit of a break from the sport because I ran out of horses and because I wanted to. It was very good for me to do that. We then had a wonderful honor where the Ziegler Farm, which purchased horses for me allowed me to continue this sport at this level. It took me a little time to get to know them but I really feel that we bought the right horses for me and that everything is working together.”
